Professional Bio

Ihor Astrelin is the Dean of Chemical Technology Faculty, Scientific Head and Professor of Technology of Inorganic Substances Department, Water Purification and General Chemical Technology, National Technical University of Ukraine “Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. He has PhD in technics, DrSc (Eng). DrScthesis “Physico-chemical and technological bases of low-waste production of phosphate fertilizers.” Astrelin’s research area connected with water and wastewater treatment technologies, low-waste technologies for wastewater purification of industrial plants and domestic wastewater, synthesis and application of nanostructured composites as an adsorbent in the purification of polluted water, the synthesis of new effective composite coagulants and flocculants, the study of biochemical methods of mineral processing raw materials, applied ecology processes etc.

Teaching skills: Chemical Technologies of Inorganic Substances; The Methodology of Scientific Research

Scientific adviser of 4-5 PhD, 2-3 Post Doc., 2-3 Bachelor students and 2-3 Master student seach year.

Took part in different Ukrainian and International conferences and his researches got positively evaluations. At the same time, he takes part in 2-3 international projects, such as Water Harmony Erasmus+, Water HarmonyEurasia-II, OTAN’s projects, France-Ukrainian’s project, USA-Georgia-Ukrain’s project etc.in the field of environmental technology.

The expert in National and International Research Projects in chemical and environmental technologies, the author of many monographs and textbooks.
